Over the next month, the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) is taking its message of business empowerment to audiences in South America and Europe.
In an effort to support the continued growth of the international LGBT business movement, the NGLCC is lending its expertise and leadership to support an LGBT business and travel event in Buenos Aires, Argentina and then to the International Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce World Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
NGLCC CEO and Co-Founder Chance Mitchell and Justin Nelson, NGLCC's co-founder and president, will be featured speakers at GNETWORK360, the Second International Forum of Businesspeople and Entrepreneurs Focused on the GLBT Market in Buenos Aires, Argentina July 15-16.
"We are looking forward to showing our continued support of the global LGBT business community through the event in Buenos Aires. As the city is known to be a gay-friendly, we have no doubt that this is a place in which LGBT businesses can thrive and we look forward to sharing our experiences with LGBT business women and men in the region," said Nelson.
The forum, produced by GMAPS360, is targeting the 250 companies that are most notably dedicating part of their current communications strategy to the LGBT community. The 300 expected attendees will learn about the LGBT market from guest speakers, workshops, presentations and panel discussions.
Nelson and Mitchell will be leading a conference session in which they discuss how the NGLCC was founded, the supplier diversity programs the organization has developed to help LGBT-owned businesses connect with major corporations, and how the organization is influencing the public policy arena.
Some other conference topics include: Internet marketing, market research, LGBT market trends, GLBT tourism development in Latin America, the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association's approach to tourism industry issues and Gay and Lesbian Chambers of Commerce services, including the NGLCC and the IGLCC.
The conference has been recognized as an event of global emphasis and importance and is being sponsored by the City of Buenos Aires Tourism Board and the National Argentina Tourism Department. In addition, Axel Hotel, where the event is being held, is providing rooms for speakers and LAN Airlines is covering airfare.
The event is targeting the 250 most outstanding companies that are currently dedicating part of their communication strategy to the GLBT segment so that they can get together again with a common objective: "Promoting Buenos Aires as a gay-friendly destination and also learn from and with speakers via presentations including workshops, panels, and paper sessions, all of them related to the GLBT market."
On July 27-29, NGLCC leadership will attend the IGLCC conference, being held in conjunction with the World Out Games, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mitchell, who also serves as the Chairman of the Board of the IGLCC, will preside over the official business of the IGLCC, along with Secretary General Pascal Lepine. NGLCC's Nelson will be speaking about LGBT supplier diversity and opportunities for multinational corporations and LGBT-owned businesses abroad.
